Ignas is working on consolidating data import and export in SchoolTool
around a spreadsheet. To import your data, you'll fill out template
worksheets; data exports can be done into the same template.
Previously we've done this with just plain CSV (comma separated value)
lists, XML web services, or Python scripts. Taking a look at Ignas's
first version of the spreadsheet, I'm slapping my forehead and
wondering why we didn't do it this way all along. I've attached the
current prototype.

One thing which may require a little explanation is that we made the
decision to do this using the Excel file format. Ignas's research
indicated that this was the best supported format for Python as well
as across spreadsheet applications, open source or otherwise.
