Please, can anyone advise?

In the meantime, I'm backing up the ZODB...

Thanks

Graham,
Just a quick word of warning. I dutifully changed the time zone in
SchoolTool and it duplicated a lot of the appointments I'd already
entered - presumably because with changing the zone the system got
confused about what day some appointments should be on. I then
went to delete one set of appointments covering three days and the
system asked me if I wanted to delete just this day or the whole
series. I clicked on the whole series and it's deleted ALL my
future appointments. Needless to say I'm not particularly happy,
especially as I have to re-enter all these manually since I use
(and will continue to use) Outlook.
Just thought you might like to know in case it's in time to help
other people avoid the same problem.

you must set your time zone.
Please take the following action, it should take no longer than
1) go to <http://schooltool.freeman-centre.ac.uk/>
2) log in
3) click your User name
4) Change Preferences
5) set your time zone to Europe/London.
Thanks
Graham

Sorry, can't reproduce that. In fact i don't even think that it's
possible. Changing timezone does not affect events in any way, only
the way you see them, so duplication is impossible.

The report lacks some details, like - is this person using "microsoft
outlook" to synchronize his events with schooltool, or he means that
he is sticking with outlook and not using schooltool? Were events
simple events or all day events? Was he seeing duplicate events in
schooltool or MS Outlook? What is the version of schooltool/schoolbell
you are using?

If he is synchronizing events with outlook (we haven't tested
schooltool <-> MS outlook integration really), what was the exact
sequence of actions ? There is a chance that it is enough to synch
events with MS outlook twice and you will get duplicate events without
even modifying the timezone.
